At the alexis PROJECT (taP), they are on a mission to raise money to accomplish many unique things. Alexis loved children, the YMCA has proposed building another new facility in the southeast Lincoln area. The taP team , is trying to raise enough money to build a playground along with them, for pre k-6 grade children in memory of sweet Alexis, who was tragically taken from her loved ones at such a young age. Many different scholarships, both to High School and College age students have been given in memory of Alexis and Chris. There are a several other charities that have contributed to taP and in retrospect taP has tried to recipricate back to them. Another goal, is to create a specific driving program to provide rides and a bar program to give Designated Drivers perks for taking their turn, getting their friends home safe. The way taP raises money is trifold. 1) Donations, any amount helps and can be done so, by simply donating on this website. 2) Jaimi, Todd and sometimes Alexis' sister, Moriah, go to churches, colleges, high schools and DUI victim impact panels and speak about the dangers of drunk driving and how it is their belief designated drivers should be treated as hero's, they have done this numerous times since Alexis and her boyfriend, Chris Oberg were killed on September 9th, 2011 (their own personal 9.11). Most of the time, they are paid a reasonable fee for their speaking efforts. 3) taP and friends have hosted a girls fast pitch softball tournament (something Alexis loved playing) and also held the first ever, taP golf tournament. If anyone has suggestions, please share. God Bless- the taP team and the family and many friends of Alexis and Chris.
